** From Tuesday 1st October 2019, Meadowcroft Surgery will be charging a fee of £5 for ALL PRIVATE PRESCRIPTIONS issued. This includes prescriptions for:

  • Tablets to postpone periods for holiday purposes - e.g. Norethisterone,

  • Anti-malarials after nurse appointments

  • Tablets for erectile dysfunction - e.g. sildenafil, tadalafil, vardenafil. NOTE - This does NOT include those prescribed erectile dysfunction tablets due to certain medical conditions on the NHS - but will include those prescriptions that are given on top of the NHS entitlement of 4 tablets per month.

This fee will be taken by a reception team member when the patient or their representative picks the prescription up from the surgery. This therefore means that we will not be sending these prescriptions to your usual chemist as we do with NHS prescriptions. - Note - this applies to PRIVATE prescriptions every time they are issued. **
